GIVING OF TIME TALENTS AND RESOURCES
Bridges United Methodist Church is a community that believes in giving back our time, talent, and resources to make the world a better place. We are committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive space that enables everyone to have a transformative experience. We strive to create opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to connect with each other and deepen their faith.
Time
We are committed to strengthening our community through faith and service. We believe that every individual has something special to offer, and we encourage our members to get involved with our various volunteer opportunities that make a meaningful difference in people's lives. We also offer various programs and special events to engage with our community and strengthen our bonds.
Talent
We’re proud of the strong sense of community that exists within our congregation. We encourage our members to share their unique talents and gifts with each other, and support one another in giving of their time to those in need. Whether it’s through outreach programs, community events, or simply being there to lend a helping hand, we strive to embody the spirit of Christ in all that we do.
Resouces
Tithe: The basic guidelines in the Bible are for the tithe, or giving 10% of your income. We don't pull out tax forms to check people's calculations, but we encourage each person to work with God to develop a giving plan. 10% is a good goal to aim for.
Also, as United Methodists, we are part of a global church with connected ministries. We collect six global offerings and one state offering each year to support our shared ministries.
