TRUST GOD

God gives instructions on how to manage our money in the Bible. In the Old Testament, God offers to open the windows of heaven in response to faithful giving.

We try to trust God and expand our faith by including God in our financial decision, both as a church and as individuals.

COMMITMENT

God commits to us, and asks that we commit as well. Relationships go both ways, so we offer electronic giving options through our website and text-giving so people can set up automatic donation plans that meet their giving goals.

SHARE RESOURCES

God provides enough, but sometimes we have to share with each other to make sure everyone gets what they need.

The people of Bridges work to share finances, time and energy to love our neighbor and transform our community.

SPECIAL SUNDAYS

As United Methodists, we are part of a global church with connected ministries. We collect six global offerings and one state offering each year to support our shared ministries.

TITHE

The basic guidelines in the Bible are for the tithe, or giving 10% of your income. We don't pull out tax forms to check people's calculations, but we encourage each person to work with God to develop a giving plan. 10% is a good goal to aim for.

#GIVING TUESDAY

After Black Friday, we join with people globally to raise money for causes that make a difference in our communities through #GivingTuesday. We raise money online for local projects that address justice and mercy issues for our neighbors.

2021: Personal Documents Project

Hope Restores, Inc. helps people replace personal documents so they can get jobs and housing. We raised $820 online.

2020: Black Empowerment Fund

The La Crosse Community Foundation started a new fund to help our African American neighbors, and we raised over $1200 to add to the fund.
